  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    Combine in large bowl the flour and sugar. In a saucepan, bring to a boil the oleo, cocoa and water. Pour over dry mixture. Add the buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla and eggs. Beat well and pour into a greased and floured baking pan. Bake in 400° oven 25 to 30 minutes. Five minutes before cake is done, start making the following frosting.
