- 1 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Heat oven to 350° (moderate).

2Grease well and dust with flour 2 layer pans or an oblong pan.

3Sift flour, sugar and cocoa in mixing bowl.

4Add shortening, milk and vanilla.

5Beat 2 minutes on medium speed on mixture.

6Scrape sides and bottom of bowl constantly.

7Add eggs.

8Beat 2 more minutes, scraping bowl constantly.

9Bake 9-inch layers about 30 minutes, oblong 40 to 50 minutes, or until when touched lightly in center, no imprint remains.

10Ice with Fudge Frosting.
