- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In mixing bowl stir together flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa and salt; set aside.

3Meanwhile in small saucepan heat butter and water on low heat until butter is melted. Beat eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla at medium speed with electric mixer until blended.

4Add flour mixture, mixing well.

5Pour in butter and water from saucepan and mix well once again.

6Pour into greased and floured 15-inch by 10-inch baking pan.

7Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

8Cool in pan on a wire rack.

9Spread chocolate frosting over cake.
