  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 4 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift together sugar, flour, cocoa and salt.

    Make hole in center.

    Add Crisco, boiling water and baking soda.

    Beat egg and add to mixture, along with baking powder and vanilla.
  5. 5
    Mix well and bake in 9-inch pan at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
