  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla pod seeds
  • 7/8 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda sieved
  • 7/8 cup butter soft
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup coffee boiling hot

    Preheat the oven to 160C.

    Grease a 2.36 liter mold.

    Beat together all the ingredients until smooth using a food processor or by hand. Ensure the coffee is piping hot so as to react with the soda and melt the butter.

    Pour the cake mixture into the mold and bake for 50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

    Ensure the mold is never more than 3/4 quarters full otherwise it may overspill.

    Leave to cool in the mold and cover with milk chocolate topping or white chocolate topping made with 50 milliliters cream, heated up, and add 100 grams white chocolate, stir until completely melted.
