  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 5 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 c. hot coffee

Directions

    You may add egg, if you wish.

    Use white for boiled frosting. You can substitute 1 square chocolate for cocoa.

    Use 1/2 tablespoon, less shortening.

    Bake in a 9-inch bread pan at 350° for 30 minutes or until center springs back.
