  • 1 pkg. (1-1/8 lb.) Devil's food cake mix
  • 1 can (1-1/3 lb.) cherry pie filling
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 6 oz. semisweet chocolate chips

    Mix first 4 ingredients by hand with spatula until well-blended.

    Turn into greased, floured 9x13-inch baking pan.

    Bake at 350F 25-30 minutes, or until cake tests done.

    Let cool and cut intosquares before adding icing.

    To make icing, combine sugar, butter and milk in saucepan.

    Bring toa boil, stirring constantly, and boil 1 minute.

    Remove from heat andadd chocolate chips.

    Stir until melted.

    Pour over cake and spread.
