  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 18 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons marachino cherry liquid, halved
  • 14 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 14 cups all-purpose flour
  • 12 cup chopped maraschino cherry
  • granulated sugar
  • 48 chocolate Hershey chocolate kisses

    Preheat oven to 325.

    Beat butter about 30 seconds, add powdered sugar and salt; beat until combined.

    Beat in 2 teaspoons cherry liquid and almond extract.

    Beat in flour.

    Stir in cherries.

    Shape dough into 1 inches balls.

    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Dip a glass into the cherry liquid, then into granulated sugar and flatten the cookie.

    Bake about 14 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
