Ingredients

  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 c. softened butter
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Directions

    Melt chocolate in double boiler and set aside.

    In large bowl, beat butter and 1 cup sugar until creamy, then beat in eggs and melted chocolate.

    In another bowl, stir together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

    Gradually add to the butter mixture and blend thoroughly.

    Place remaining 1/4 cup sugar in a small bowl.

    Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar to coat.

    Place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 12 to 14 minutes or until tops appear dry.

    Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
