- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. cornstarch
- 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, cut up
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
Directions

1In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, chocolate and salt; mix well.

2Add milk gradually; heat over low heat.

3Stir constantly until mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.

4Cover and continue cooking 8 minutes; stir occasionally.

5In mixing bowl, gradually stir half of hot mixture into beaten egg yolks; return to saucepan.

6Cook 5 minutes; stir occasionally.

7Remove from heat.

8Add vanilla.

9Pour into baked shell; refrigerate.

10Serve with whipped cream.
