- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cold milk
- 3 beaten egg yolks
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. oleo
- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients.

2Add cold milk to egg yolk.

3Add this mixture to scalded milk (total 2 1/2 cups milk includes all).

4Cook very slowly until thick and creamy.

5Add vanilla.

6Cool.

7Pour into unbaked cooled pie crust, 8 or 9-inch.

8Add meringue by beating 3 egg whites (room temperature) with 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar until foamy.

9Gradually add 3 tablespoons sugar and beat until stands in peaks.

10Put on pie.

11Brown in 350° oven 12 minutes.

12Cool out of draft.
