  • 2 whole Eggs, Beaten
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 ounces, weight Unsweetened Chocolate Squares
  • 1/2 cups Shortening, Melted With The Chocolate
  • 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cups Chopped Walnuts Sprinkled On Top

Directions

    In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs. Add the sugar and the vanilla and mix well.

    In a small pan or in a microwave safe bowl melt the chocolate and the shortening together. When melted, add to the first mixture.

    Then add the flour and mix.

    Pour into a buttered 8-inch square pan. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top.

    Bake at 325 degrees for 28 to 32 minutes.

    When I use a dark metal pan, they take 28 minutes. When I use a light aluminum pan, they take 31 minutes in my oven.
