  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 12 cup corn syrup
  • 12 cup liquid honey
  • 1 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 cups corn flakes
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening

Directions

    In a large saucepan, combine the peanut butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and honey.

    Stir over medium heat until smooth.

    Remove from heat and stir in peanuts and vanilla.

    Gradually add cereal, stirring until well coated.

    Press evenly into a buttered 15 x 10 inchy jelly roll pan.

    In a double boiler or small heavy pan, melt chocolate and shortening together over low heat.

    Spread evenly over mixture in the pan.

    Chill until set.

    Cut into bars about 3 x 1 inch.

    Makes about 50 depending on how you cut them.
