  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 3 sq. bitter chocolate, melted
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

    Sift flour, soda and salt three times.

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs and blend well.

    Add melted chocolate and walnuts.

    Add flour and buttermilk, folding in lightly.

    Pour into greased angel food pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour or until done.
