Ingredients
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. dark brown sugar, packed
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 c. chocolate chips
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- green chocolate mint wafers (about 1 lb.)
- chocolate sprinkles (optional)
Directions

1In a large heavy saucepan over low heat, cook butter or margarine, sugar and water until butter is melted.

2Add chocolate pieces and stir until partially melted.

3Remove from heat and continue to stir until chocolate is completely melted.

4Pour into large mixer bowl and let stand about 10 minutes to cool slightly. With mixer at high speed, beat in eggs one at a time.

5Reduce speed to low and add dry ingredients, beating just until blended. Chill dough about 1 hour for easier handling.

6Preheat oven to 350°.

7Line 2 cookie sheets with foil.

8Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into balls; place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.

9Bake 12 to 13 minutes, no longer.

10Cookies will crisp as they cool. Remove from oven and immediately place mint on each hot cookie. Allow to soften, then swirl mint over cookie.

11If desired, decorate with sprinkles.

12Remove from cookie sheets and cool completely.

13Makes 80 at about 90 calories each.
