- 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, separated
- 3/4 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. milk, scalded
- 8-inch pie shell, baked
Directions

1Put milk onto heat (keeping out small amount for later use). Put chocolate in heating milk.

2Mix flour, salt and sugar (sift together).

3Stir into dry mixture melted butter and egg yolks.

4To make batter more workable, add small amount of milk that was held out.

5When milk is scalded, pour in batter slowly, stirring until it thickens.

6Remove from heat and add vanilla.

7Pour into pie shell.
