- 2 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 sq. chocolate
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Scald milk in double boiler.

2Add mixed dry ingredients and chocolate cut in small pieces.

3Stir until mixture thickens.

4Stir a small amount of mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks and return mixture to double boiler.

5Stir until coagulates (2 or 3 minutes) and remove from fire.

6Add butter and vanilla; beat thoroughly with rotary beater or electric mixer.

7Cool.

8Place in a baked shell.

9Cover with meringue made with egg whites.

10Bake in 300° oven for about 20 minutes or until meringue is golden brown.
