Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. plain flour
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • dash of salt
  • 3 c. sweet milk
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten
  • 4 Tbsp. butter (1/2 stick)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 baked (9-inch) pie shells
  • 4 egg whites (for meringue)
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar (for meringue)

Directions

    Mix all dry ingredients.

    Add all liquids.

    Mix well.

    Cook in pot, stirring constantly.

    When thick, pour into 2 baked pie shells. Beat egg whites until stiff.

    Add sugar and mix well. Spread over chocolate mixture.

    Brown in a 350° oven.
