  • 1 (4 oz.) German sweet cooking chocolate
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar (white)
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (10-inch) deep pie shell (unbaked)
  • 1 (3 1/2 oz.) can flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Melt chocolate and butter.

    Cool.

    In medium bowl, beat eggs until light and fluffy.

    Add sugar, cornstarch and salt; beat until smooth.

    Blend in chocolate mixture.

    Gradually add evaporated milk and vanilla; mix until smooth.

    Pour into pie shell.

    Sprinkle with coconut and pecans.

    Bake in 350° oven for 50 to 60 minutes until top is puffed.
