Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped)
Directions

1In saucepan, combine cream, chocolate, and sugar.

2Cook and whisk over medium heat until boiling and thickened, about 10 minutes.

3Meanwhile, whisk egg yolks in medium bowl.

4When chocolate has thickened, remove from heat.

5Whisk slooooowly into egg yolks, about 1/4 cup at a time (so you don't scramble the eggs).

6Whisk in vanilla.

7Pour into 4 small ramekins and chill 4-24 hours.

8If chilling longer than 4 hours, cover after chocolate has completely cooled.

9Serve with chocolate shavings or whipped cream, if desired.
