  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. plain flour (Red Band)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa

    Cream together butter, Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Add milk and vanilla alternately with flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa.

    Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 325° for one hour and 20 minutes.
