  • 1 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar well.

    Add eggs, one at a time. Add dry ingredients alternating with milk.

    Blend in vanilla. (Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder together before adding to mixture.)

    Bake in greased tube pan dusted with flour at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
