  • 1/2 lb. margarine (not butter)
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. cocoa

    Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa.

    Cream margarine and shortening together.

    Add eggs, one at a time, to creamed mixture, blending well each time.

    Add sifted dry ingredients, alternating with milk and vanilla mixture.

    Cook in greased and lightly floured tube or Bundt pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
