- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. solid Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 3 c. self-rising flour
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- dash of salt
Directions

1Set out all ingredients an hour before mixing.

2Cream butter or margarine, Crisco and sugar.

3Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

4Add cocoa.

5Add flour and milk alternately, ending with flour.

6Add salt and vanilla.

7Beat well.

8Pour batter into a tube pan of which only the bottom has been greased. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 35 minutes.
