Chocolate Pound Cake

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 eggs

Directions

    Cream butter and shortening; add sugar and eggs, one at a time.

    Beat after each addition.

    Sift flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt.

    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.

    Add vanilla before last flour. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan, 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325°.
