Chocolate Pound Cake

  • 1/2 lb. creamy butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. sifted Swan's Down cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder (level tsp.)
  • 1 (16 oz.) can Hershey's chocolate syrup

    Cream butter, sugar and Crisco.

    Add eggs to mixture.

    Cream well.

    Add flour and milk alternately (a little flour with a little milk).

    Add vanilla, salt and baking powder.

    Add can of chocolate syrup; mix well.

    Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
