Chocolate Pound Cake

- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 5 heaping Tbsp. baking cocoa
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- Frosting
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa together.

4Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.

5Stir in vanilla.

6Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

7Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

8Cool in pan for several minutes.

9Invert onto serving plate.

10Spread frosting over cake.

11May omit frosting if preferred. Yield:
