  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. sweet milk
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream sugar, Crisco and margarine together.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Beat well.

    Sift cocoa, flour, salt and baking powder all together.

    Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milk.

    Add vanilla.

    Pour in tube pan, bake at 350° for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until done.
