- 3 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- confectioners sugar for dusting
- 1 1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened
- 3 c. granulated sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 1 3/4 c. milk
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate, grated
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour 10 cup 10-inch tube pan.

3In sifter, mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

4In large bowl, beat butter until fluffy.

5Gradually beat in sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

6Add eggs, one at a time, beating well with each addition.

7Alternately beat in flour mixture in fourths and milk in thirds, beginning with flour.

8Beat in grated chocolate and vanilla.

9Pour into prepared pan.

10Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.

11Cool 10 minutes in pan.

12Dust with sugar.
