  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/3 c. plus 1 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. sweet milk

    Use an angel cake pan.

    Cream the shortening and sugar, then add one egg at a time.

    Blend after each.

    Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk and vanilla.

    Pour into a well-greased and floured pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325°.
