- 1 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 5 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. sour milk (1 1/2 c. sweet milk with 1 1/2 Tbsp. vinegar)
Directions

1Cream butter, sugar and vanilla on medium speed for 3 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time.

2Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.

3Grease and flour a tube pan.

4Bake at 325° for 1 hour 20 minutes.

5Cool 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

6When cool, drizzle with a mixture of 1 cup confectioners sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla or 1 teaspoon rum and 2 to 3 tablespoons hot water.

7(Add water 1 tablespoon at a time until right consistency.)
