Chocolate Pound Cake

  • vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. milk

    Preheat oven to 325°.

    Spray 2 loaf pans or 1 Bundt pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, with electric mixer, cream the margarine, shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

    In separate medium bowl, combine dry ingredients and stir well. Add dry mixture to moist batter and mix on low speed while adding milk. Pour batter into prepared pans.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours or until inserted knife comes out clean.

    Let cake cool 10 minutes in pan, then remove cake and serve.
