- 1 c. buttermilk baking mix (Pioneer or Bisquick)
- 1 c. sugar, separated
- 3 Tbsp. plus 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 2/3 c. hot tap water
- confectioners sugar (optional)
Directions

1Combine buttermilk mix, 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons cocoa. Pour into a greased 8-inch square pan.

2Stir in milk and vanilla until well blended.

3Sprinkle evenly with remaining 1/3 cup cocoa and 1/2 cup sugar.

4Carefully pour hot water on top (do not stir). Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
