Chocolate Raspberry Nut Bars

Ingredients

  • 3 sticks margarine, softened
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 12 oz. raspberry jam
  • 12 oz. chocolate bits
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream together margarine and sugar.

    Beat in eggs, vanilla and salt.

    Beat in flour a little at a time.

    Spread batter on an oiled jelly roll tin.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    Take from oven and lightly spread with raspberry jam.

    Top with chocolate bits.

    Put back in oven for a few minutes so you can spread the chocolate. Sprinkle with 1 cup nuts.

    Press in gently; let it cool thoroughly. Cut gently into 70 pieces with pizza cutter.
