Chocolate Sheath Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 1/2 tsp. cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk or 1/2 c. sweet milk with 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix the flour and sugar.

    Bring to a boil the water, Crisco, margarine and cocoa.

    Pour over dry ingredients.

    Add the remaining ingredients.

    Mix well and pour into sheath cake pan. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.
