  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. oleo
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift sugar and flour into large bowl. Combine oleo, cocoa and water in pan and cook to boiling. Pour over sugar and flour and mix. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla and mix well. (It will be thin.) Pour into greased jelly roll pan, 15 x 10-inches. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Prepare icing 5 minutes before cake is done.
