- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 sticks margarine
Directions

1Sift flour, sugar and baking soda together. Melt margarine, cocoa and water over low heat and bring to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla and mix well. Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Pour frosting on cake while warm.
