Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. strong coffee (cooled) or 1 c. water
  • 1/3 c. corn oil
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    In an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan, stir all dry ingredients.

    In another bowl, mix together all liquid ingredients.

    Pour liquid ingredients into middle of dry ingredients.

    Stir with a fork, scraping sides and corners of pan, until the mixture is uniform in color.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

    Cool in the pan before cutting.
