  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Directions

    In heavy 2-quart saucepan, stir together sugar, corn syrup, water and salt.

    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.

    Cook without stirring until temperature on candy thermometer reaches 250° or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a ball which is hard enough to hold its shape, yet elastic.

    Remove from heat.
