- 2 to 2 1/2 lb. chop suey meat
- oil for browning
- 1 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 1 can mushrooms
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 (1 lb.) can bean sprouts
- 1 can water chestnuts
Directions

1Brown meat in oil.

2Add water, salt and pepper.

3Cover and cook until meat is tender, about 45 minutes.

4You may need to add more water.

5Add celery and onions.

6Cook 1/2 hour.

7Add mushrooms.

8Mix soy sauce and cornstarch.

9Stir into cooked mixture until thick.

10Add drained bean sprouts and water chestnuts.

11Serve over rice.
