  • 1 c. rice
  • 1 - 3 lb. chicken
  • butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 soup cans water
  • 1 1 1/2 oz. envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 10 1/2 oz. can cream of mushroom soup

    Wash, dry, and cut chicken into serving-size pieces.

    Set aside.

    Combine remaining ingredients in a shallow baking dish, mix well.

    Arrange chicken over rice mixture.

    Brush chicken with melted butter or margarine.

    Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 425° for 30 minutes.

    Remove foil and bake for 30 minutes longer, or until chicken and rice are tender.
