Ingredients

  • 1 qt. green tomatoes
  • 2 sweet green peppers
  • 2 sweet red peppers
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 3 c. vinegar
  • 2 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • 2 tsp. celery seed

    Grind all vegetables.

    Add salt.

    Grind and let stand overnight.

    Next morning, drain all liquid off.

    Add all other ingredients and bring to boil.

    Reduce to simmer and cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

    Put in jars and store in dark place for 3 weeks before using.
