Ingredients

  • 1 qt. cabbage, chopped
  • 1 qt. green tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 qt. onions, chopped
  • hot peppers, chopped (hot as you want)
  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed

Directions

    Mix vegetables and 1/2 cup salt.

    Let stand overnight.

    Next day drain.

    Heat vinegar, sugar and spices and simmer 10 minutes. Add to vegetables.

    Cook approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

    Chow will change to a dull green color.

    Pack and seal.
