Ingredients

  • 1/2 peck green tomatoes
  • 6 bell peppers (green and red)
  • 2 or 3 bunches celery
  • 2 qt. small pickles
  • 1 qt. small white onions
  • 1/2 lb. lima beans, cooked (can use frozen)
  • 2 or more heads cauliflower
  • 2 qt. vinegar
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. dry mustard (mixed with water)
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed

    Cut up vegetables and mix together.

    Add 2 handfuls of canning salt.

    Let stand overnight.

    Next day, drain.

    Boil vinegar and water; mix with vegetables.

    Add sugar and boil until nearly tender.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Pack in sterilized jars and seal.

    Can be put in a canner and boiled a while if preferred, but not necessary.
