- 12 green sweet peppers
- 12 red sweet peppers
- 12 medium size onions
- 4 qt. cabbage, chopped
- 1/2 c. coarse salt
- 7 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. ground mustard
- 4 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 Tbsp. turmeric
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 3 Tbsp. celery seed
- 2 Tbsp. whole mixed pickling spice
- 2 qt. white house vinegar
Directions

1Chop peppers, onions, tomatoes and cabbage as fine as you like it.

2Mix in salt and let stand overnight.

3Drain.

4Mix vinegar, spices (tie pickling spice in cloth), and sugar and simmer for about 20 minutes.

5Add the chopped mixture and continue to simmer for another 25 minutes.

6Place mixture in hot jars and seal.
