  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 5 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (12 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
  • 3 c. flour

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs one at a time.

    Add flour and vanilla.

    Blend well.

    Fold in nuts and cherries.

    (Roll cherries in flour first to avoid sinking.)

    Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.

    Bake at 350° for 20 minutes, then lower to 325° and bake one hour.
