- 2 c. white sugar
- 2 c. light brown sugar
- 1 c. heavy cream
- 1/2 c. butter
- pinch of cream of tartar
- 1 c. chopped dates
- 1 c. shredded coconut
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions

1Boil sugars, cream and butter to soft ball stage.

2Add dates and cook 5 to 8 minutes more, stirring constantly.

3Remove from heat and add coconut, nuts, vanilla and cream of tartar.

4Stir enough to blend well.

5Pour into buttered pan.

6Cut when cool. Candy is best if packed in a container and left to age for a week or so.
