  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 oz. yeast cake
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom seed
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. citron, finely cut
  • 1/2 c. sliced candied cherries
  • about 2 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 regular size yellow cake mix
  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon
  • nuts

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Add cake mix and flour and knead dough.

    Let rise until double.

    Roll to 1/4 inch thickness and spread with brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts.

    Roll as for jelly roll and cut 1/2-inch slices.
