Christmas Tree Cookies

   Cream butter and sugar; add vanilla and egg.

   Beat until light.

   Add sifted dry ingredients.

   Chill for several hours or until firm enough to roll.

   Roll 1/8-inch thickness.

   Cut with floured cookie cutter.

   Bake on cookie sheets in moderate oven at 325° for about 8 minutes.

   Cool on wire racks.

   Frost with powdered sugar icing.
