  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. brandy or rum
  • 5 Tbsp. sour cream
  • 2 1/2 c. flour (more if needed)
  • oil for frying
  • powdered sugar

Directions

    Add salt to egg yolks, beat until thick and lemon colored.

    Add sugar and flavoring.

    Add sour cream and flour alternately, beating well after each addition.

    Add more flour if needed (dough should not be too moist and must and should be able to roll out easily). Roll out on floured surface until 1/8-inch thick.

    The cookie is more crisp with a thinner dough.

    Cut into strips about 3 to 4-inches long.

    Make a slit in the center of the strip and pull one end through it.

    Fry in a hot oil until slightly brown.

    Drain on paper.

    Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
